DocFlow ("we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome extension designed to help users track their writing habits inside Google Docs. We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing transparency about how we handle your data.

- Authentication Information (via Firebase Auth)
If you choose to log in, we use Firebase Authentication to identify your account. This includes your email address and a unique user ID provided by Firebase. We do not access your password or other sensitive account information. - Writing Activity (Local & Cloud-Stored)
We track:- Basic document metadata (title, last accessed time)
- Document activity data (writing sessions, changes, and interactions)
- Usage statistics and productivity metrics
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Track and analyze your writing patterns
- Generate productivity insights and statistics
- Provide streak tracking and achievement features
- Improve our extension's functionality
🧠 What We Do Not Collect
- We do not access the content of your documents.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.
- We do not track your activity outside of Google Docs.
🎯 Why We Collect Data
We collect minimal, relevant data for the following purposes:
- To track your writing activity and show progress
- To maintain streaks and reward milestones
- To optionally email you summaries or badges (only if you opt in)
- To improve DocFlow's features and performance
📡 Use of Host Permissions
DocFlow requires permission to access https://docs.google.com/* solely to detect when you're writing in a Google Doc. This permission is taken at the time of installation and works in the background. You can change this access at anything via the extension settings. We do not access the content of your documents.
📤 Sharing of Data
We do not share your personal data with any third parties. All data is used internally to power the features of DocFlow.
Data Storage and Security
Data is stored using Google Firebase, a secure and industry-standard platform. All communication is encrypted using HTTPS, and access is restricted by Firebase security rules.
